OMNImet®•GUT

OMNImet®•GUT(ME-200) is an all-in-one system for easy at-home collection, homogenization and room temperature stabilization of targeted and untargeted metabolites from fecal samples.

Transport and store stabilized metabolomics at ambient temperature for 7 days – no cold chain required.

※For research

※OMNImet・GUT contains high-concentration alcohol. Store and use it out of the reach of children, and be careful of fire.

What is metabolomics?

At its core, metabolomics is the large-scale study of small molecules, called metabolites, which comprise the metabolome. Metabolites present in fecal samples represent the terminal enzymatic process signature occurring in the gut, making metabolomic profiling an especially powerful tool to elucidate the mechanistic functions of gut metabolites in human health, wellness and disease.

Features

  • At-home collection without the logistical challenges of household freezer storage or the urgency of expedited sample return
  • Room temperature stability for 7 days – no requirement for shipping and handling under temperature-controlled conditions
  • Optimized for use in metabolome-wide discovery analysis and targeted assays like short-chain fatty acids (SCAFs)
  • Ability to perform both targeted and untargeted metabolomic assays from a single collection tube
  • Volumetrically validated sample input and point-of-collection sample homogenization to reduce intra-sample variation and increase reproducibility
  • Tube design compatible with automated high-throughput sample processing to provide workflow standardization and efficiency
  • Barcoded-driven tracking ability to increase workflow efficiencies and traceability management
  • Stabilization chemistry compatible with common analytical platforms and suitable for long-term storage1 and biobanking

Collect feces

(1) Unscrew the purple cap from the collection device and set it aside for later use.

(2) Use the stick to collect a small amount of fecal sample.

(3) Transfer the fecal sample into the yellow tube top Repeat until the sample reaches the top and fills it completely.

(4) Screw the purple cap back onto the yellow tube top until tightly closed.

(5) Shake the sealed tube as hard and fast as possible in a back and forth motion for a minimum of 30 seconds.

(6) The fecal sample will be mixed with the stabilizing liquid in the tube; not all particles will dissolve.
