Unlike conventional incubators that open only into the room, exposing cells inside to suboptimal conditions and contamination risk, Xvivo incubators can open into the room or be configured to open only into aseptic gloved processing chambers with the same CO2, O2, and temperature as the incubator. Optimum conditions are never disturbed, even during handling. People and contaminants in room air are kept safely outside.

1. Control temperature, oxygen and CO2 condition
Compared to conventional CO2 incubators with oxygen fixed at 20%, the Xvivo System has full range oxygen control (0.1 - 99.9%) in every incubation chamber, and in every processing chamber. Simulating physiologic O2 and simulating pathophysiologic hypoxia or hyperoxia is easy.

- Humidity (more than 90%) in incubator area only
- Oxygen (0.1 to 99.9%)
- CO2(0.1~20.0%)

2. Xvivo has the option of multiple independent chambers per incubator. Each can have different conditions simultaneously. That means different culture protocols can run in one incubator at the same time.
Xvivo incubators can open into the room or be configured to open only into aseptic gloved processing chambers with the same CO2, O2, and temperature as the incubator.

Modules can be fitted together like building blocks, and configured for virtually any application, large or small. If needs change, you can easily modify and upgrade your incubator by adding or removing modules or controls. Your incubator will never again constrain your research. Added 12 additional incubation chambers (8 in one hood, 4 in the other) for a new total of 13, each independently controlled, and added a couple of small laminar flow clean hoods one at each end. Modularity means you will never be limited.

(1) PC provides familiar, convenient interface, security access, and datalogs everything. PC accessories allow you to operate system from any remote location via modem, network, or internet
(2) to (4) Controller controls wide range of conditions in first cell culture chamber (temperature, CO2, O2, CO, NO). Conditions can be different in each chamber. Conditions can be static ordynamic.
(5) Controller can interface special custom accessories such as liquid sensors in media, timed aliquots of liquid infused into media, fiber optic spectrometry, etc.
(6) Controller duplicates conditions of glove workspace to each different incubator just before it is opened. Optimal conditions need never be disturbed. Workspace atmosphere is constantly HEPA filtered, UV sterilized, activated carbon adsorbed, and dehumidified to levels less than those that support bacterial proliferation.
(7) Controller adapts conditions of pass-through chamber to glove box so conditions in glove box are not affected by moving things in and out.
(8) to (10) Nitrogen is used to push down oxygen and carbon dioxide. Oxygen is used to push up oxygen.. Carbon dioxide is used to push up carbon dioxide.
(11)Transport chambers are part of the system. They can transport cultures uninterrupted and be opened uninterrupted inside glove workspace.
