Spheroid formation on the different types of LifeGel™

LifeGel optimised for PANC-1 cell line. Five types of LifeGel were observed to result in different morphology of PANC-1 cells. Physical interaction of cells with various LifeGels caused changes in gene expression profiles and therefore changed morphology of cells.

IC50s for several drugs have been compared in 2D versus 3D cell culture using PANC-1 cells. As commonly observed, 3D cell cultures show less sensitivity to drugs than 2D cell cultures.
Comparable data has been obtained in 384-well LifeGel™ plates (Z’ values 0.7 +/- 0.1). Different assays may be multiplexed, including DNA quantitation.
